Sacrifice Bairam

Sacrifice Bairam is celebrated every year. However it is not celebrated on the same day every year. Each year it begins ten days before the last time. I mean Sacrifice Bairam is celebrated on 20th of December, ıt means that next year we will celebrate it on 10th of December.
The day before the bairam is called as Arife. On arife people clean their homes, they go for shopping, mothers make baklava (it is a traditional dessert) and fathers buynew clothes to their family members to wear on bairam days.
Sacrifice Bairam is celebrated for four days. But we can only sacrifice the animals first two days of Bairam.
In our homes we feel the excitement of that special days. In the first morning of Bairam day young kisses the elders' hands in return children take some amount of money or some candies.
On those days, relatives visit each others.
